Daan Park Forest Park
Workshop-Daan Park Forest Park is a creative endeavor inspired by Allan Wexler’s innovative artwork, “Four White Shirts Sewn Into a Tablecloth and Four Shirt Collars Sewn Into a Tablecloth,” and Ani Krikorian’s wearable constructs. Located in Da’an District, Taipei City, Taiwan, Da’an Forest Park serves as the backdrop for this exploration, occupying a central position in the city and spanning an area of 25.9293 hectares. Revered as the ‘lungs of the city,’ the park offers various facilities including a sports park.
The project aims to deconstruct the commonplace white shirt, following Wexler’s lead in transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary through creative spatial representations. The initiative delves into innovative design and deconstruction techniques by incorporating Krikorian’s wearable constructs. “Deconstructing Everyday” seeks to establish a dialogue space for interpersonal connections within public environments, transcending conventional routines.
In the “Emotional Connection – Poetic Body” series, the project endeavors to craft a poetic narrative that encourages meaningful dialogues and connections between individuals. Through metaphorical interventions, it aims to provoke contemplation on the essence of human connections and the transformative potential inherent in deconstructing the mundane.
The first phase of experimentation and testing will involve a mixed-community approach, utilizing Da’an Forest Park as the primary setting. This approach underscores the project’s commitment to engaging diverse audiences and fostering interaction within public spaces. Workshop-Daan Park Forest Park represents an innovative fusion of art, design, and community engagement, aiming to inspire reflection and connection amidst the urban landscape of Taipei City.
